Popularity of Christmas Fundraiser Using Charitable Greeting Cards Grows

For the eighth consecutive year, DontSendMeACard.com is continuing to grow in popularity as an alternative for sending festive greetings. The platform, which was piloted in November 2015 with a handful of charities, has since grown to welcome over 1900 organisations. These organisations have uploaded a large library of e-card designs for supporters to choose from, ranging from static to animated cards.

The Salvation Army, Dogs Trust and Stroke Association are some of the many well-known organisations that have invested time into creating designs for the platform, with the aim of saving paper. “The range of designs on offer now is superb,” said DontSendMeACard Co-founder Alex Furness. “When we started off, our content was minimal but we saw the potential for our model and people still used our initial offering. For our platform and brand to have grown in popularity the way it has really is in part down to how brilliantly creative the designs that charities have come up with.”

In addition to designing e-cards, charities are engaging with artists, illustrators, and running Christmas e-card design competitions to add to their e-card collections. Sir Quentin Blake, Harry Hill, and Nick Park, creator of Wallace and Gromit, have all offered artwork to fundraise with.

With first-class UK stamps increasing by 15p in October to £1.25, the third increase in 18 months, DontSendMeACard is expected to be a popular choice for Christmas 2023. Consumers and businesses who typically send physical Christmas cards can browse the designs by occasion and charity on the platform.

“The platform has come a long way since its initial launch in 2015,” concluded Furness. “It’s been a collective effort from charities, artists, and our team here at DontSendMeACard that has made it a success. We’re proud to be offering such a great service to our users.”
