2023 on Track to See Highest Ever Number of Trips to Egypt

As Egypt continues to open its borders to international travellers, the visa agency e-Visa.co.uk expects the country to welcome an unprecedented number of tourists this summer. The simplified visa policy for 180 countries has made it easier to obtain a visa for Egypt, resulting in a substantial increase in the number of visa applications.

The Egyptian government reported a 43% increase in the number of foreign travellers during the first quarter of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022. According to e-Visa.co.uk, the number of visa applications during the first four months of the year was 46% higher than in the same period a year earlier.

The International Monetary Fund has recently advised other countries to ease their entry requirements, with the growth of tourists to Egypt as an example. Pleun Leijten, Manager Customer Relations at e-Visa.co.uk, commented: “The exceptional growth in the number of visa applications to Egypt predicts an excellent holiday season for the country. The reliable application procedure to apply for this required visa for Egypt is therefore an example for other countries.”

The high travel demand this year has led both TUI and Ryanair, the leading travel operators, to announce that they will not be able to offer last-minute bookings this year. Travelers are advised to book their trips and apply for their visas as early as possible.
