Hope Spring Launches Podcast Series Focusing on WASH Issues

Hope Spring, a Hereford-based charity advocating for clean water, sanitation and hygiene, announced the launch of their podcast ‘WASH Talk’ on Tuesday 9th May.

The podcast, hosted by one of the charity’s volunteers Bolu Olorunfemi, began with a discussion about clean water and the challenges faced by water, sanitation and hygiene charities, particularly those working in Africa.

Hope Spring trustee and founder Temi Odurinde commented on the launch, saying “we wanted to find a new way to share news about our work with a new audience, which is why we chose podcasting as the platform. Around 20% of global internet users listen to podcasts regularly, so hopefully we can reach more people with news and information about the WASH sector.”

The first episode featured a conversation between Bolu Olorunfemi and Temi Odurinde, exploring the sector and the charity’s upcoming pledge auction.

A second episode is expected in June 2023, with Seun Olonade, manager of Hope Spring’s eCards platform, discussing how the virtual anniversary cards have contributed to their revenue growth.

Bolu Olorunfemi expressed her enthusiasm for the podcast, saying “I’m very pleased to have been chosen to front this podcast. It gives me the chance to help Hope Spring move forward in their clean water advocacy, as well as having conversations about the sector with knowledgeable people.”
