Lightwater Leisure Centre, located in the local community of Lightwater, recently completed a comprehensive refurbishment programme to improve their gym and facilities. The extensive improvements include a total gym refit, revamped changing rooms, studios and brand-new facilities such as a sauna, spin studio and café run by Fieldhouse Coffee, a local team using local produce. Further improvements are planned for next year, which will include solar car chargers, Padel tennis and outside seating for the café.
Councillor John Skipper, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture at Surrey Heath Borough Council, commented: “These are exciting times for the centre and the local community of Lightwater. The café is now open to all, and I highly recommend their coffee. The Council is proud to support this project, which was enabled through extending the lease between the centre’s business partner, Lifestyle Fitness, and the Lightwater Playing Fields Association. I urge members of the community to join the centre and check out the new facilities for themselves, as they are brilliant!”
The board of Trustees for Lightwater Playing Fields Association also expressed their delight: “We are so pleased with the final product. Our members and the wider community have requested many of these features over the years, and we are sure they’ll be happy to see the newly revamped Leisure Centre, with their feedback taken on board!”
To mark the completion of the refurbishment programme, Lightwater Leisure Centre will be hosting a Family Fun Day on Saturday, 7th October from 10am.
