Wicked Cookies, a family-run business based in Coventry, has been recognised for its allergen-free range of over 40 flavours of cookies by winning two awards at the National Free From Food Awards in London on Thursday.
The small business achieved a Gold Award for its Vegan & Gluten Free Snickerwoodle and a Silver Award for its Vegan & Gluten Free Triple Chocolate cookie. The judges praised the Snickerwoodle, describing it as “seriously delicious” with a “lovely soft yet crunchy texture and the cinnamon sugar/snickerwoodle flavour.”
When asked what a Snickerwoodle was, Director Sally Rees said “It’s our version of a Snickerdoodle, which are a light, cinnamon flavoured cookie very popular in the US. We created a vegan and gluten free version for our ‘free from’ customers and it’s incredibly popular.”
Co-director Giles Rees commented “No other cookie producer can match the range of allergen free cookies that we offer. They are all made by hand at our bakery in Warwickshire, by our small team who are equally passionate about creating dairy free and gluten free cookies that are in a different league to typical supermarket options.”
The National Free From Food Awards, launched in 2008 to celebrate the best in free from food and drink, recognised the quality of Wicked Cookies’ products.
