Incredibuild and Perforce Unveil 2023 State of Game Development & Design Survey

Today, Perforce Software and Incredibuild, a leading development acceleration platform for Developers and DevOps teams, have announced the 2023 State of Game Development & Design survey. The survey aims to capture insights from game development professionals, including studio owners, technical officers, developers, artists, and designers, to gain a comprehensive perspective on the future of the industry and emerging tools and platforms.

Brad Hart, VP of Product at Perforce commented, “The gaming industry is quickly evolving as the tools and technologies teams depend on continue to provide exciting capabilities. Last year, we gained insights into the economic impact of streaming and subscription models, as well as growing adoption of cloud-based workflows to support remote collaboration.”

The survey findings from last year found that 60% of studios develop games solely on the cloud, with an additional 18% using a hybrid model. These insights were summarized in the Perforce 2022 Game Development Trends & Forecast Report.

Duncan Huffman, Head of Product Marketing at Incredibuild said, “This joint survey initiative with Perforce will help us better understand how studios are developing games, along with their challenges. That information will help us make informed decisions for future product capabilities and ensure that we’re always pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in game development.”

Not only is the 2023 State of Game Development & Design survey a great opportunity for the industry to gain insights, it is also a chance to give back. Perforce and Incredibuild will make a $1 donation to One Tree Planted, a non-profit organization that focuses on global reforestation and the creation of habitats for biodiversity, for each valid survey response.
