Hope Springs Finishes Seventh Clean Water Project of 2020

Hope Springs, a Herefordshire water poverty alleviation charity, recently announced the completion of their seventh clean water project of the year. The project, a borehole constructed at Atobaje community in Agege, Nigeria, was partly funded by the charity and a local NGO.

The borehole, which took six weeks to complete, is expected to serve more than forty households and the local primary school. It is comprised of six standpipes and one larger pipe, able to serve up to seven people simultaneously.

At a ceremony to handover the project to the community, Hope Spring Water Nigeria Director Dr Rahmat Adebisi thanked the local community for their help and the Hope Spring UK business Christmas charity ecard fundraiser for making the project possible.

The community, through the water committee it has established, will now take over the day-to-day running and maintenance of the borehole. On the day of the handover, thousands of litres of water were collected.
