When questioned about the motivation behind this move, Chief Executive Joseph Willis explained: “Nine years ago, I established my own recruitment business – Lastminute Care & Nursing. While it commenced as a recruitment agency in the Health & Social Care sector, it subsequently evolved into a care provider, revealing distinct differences in quality standards and compliance levels between the two facets of the business.
“I was determined to ensure that our recruitment and employment endeavours mirror the practices of our other business segments and those of our end-user clients. By embracing this approach to quality standards, we’ve successfully expanded to multiple locations across the UK and are nearing our 20th branch.”
Joseph, in his commitment to maintaining quality within an unregulated recruitment sector, perceives a need for a quality standard to distinguish his business from those lacking a shared commitment to quality. Simultaneously, he envisions the standard creating an avenue for like-minded individuals and entities to participate and benefit from the Guild.
Joseph launched the Guild of Quality Employment Agencies with a cost-free model, complete with a universally applicable code of conduct. This inclusive approach caters to small, medium, and large organisations, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder recruitment start-ups and individual recruiters from accessing quality standards and association memberships.
